DOCUMENTARY ORGANIZATION OF CANADA WELCOMES CRTC CHANGES TO POLICY FRAMEWORK FOR CERTIFIED INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION FUNDS
Toronto, August 29, 2016 – The Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC) issued the following response to Thursday’s announcement by the CRTC of changes to the policy framework for the Certified Independent Production Fund:
“DOC always welcomes changes that endeavour to support our filmmakers and are pleased to see a more forward-thinking approach to this very important component of the funding landscape in Canada. In particular DOC is pleased to see more flexibility to eligibility for accessing the funds as well as the possibility of acquiring funds in development as well as for the promotional phase of a project. These represent significant positive changes for the members of the independent documentary community.”
